Reflection: Even when we hide, God sees us naked before Him Bible Reading:
Genesis 3:8-10, 8 And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the LORD God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?” 10 And he said, “I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.”
From the Scripture above, we can see that Adam and Eve were hiding themselves from the presence of God among the trees of the garden. The Lord God said, “Where are you?” and Adam said he was afraid because he was naked. God knew that they were naked and hiding from His presence. But God was calling them by name to connect with them again after they had eaten the forbidden fruit.
Isaiah 59:2, says 2 but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear. Though we have sinned against God, in His loving kindness, He is still looking for us and calling us back to walk with Him and have fellowship with Him. We are the ones who have disobeyed Him and run away from Him.
In Isaiah 1:18 “ Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. God is calling us everyday to come back into His presence and know His lovingkindness. When we come to Him with humble and repentant hearts He will forgive us.
1 John 1:9, says 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Prayer Focus
1. Let us start our prayer and fasting today by humbling ourselves before God and pray: Father God, please forgive me of my sins. I cannot hide from Your presence. We are naked before your eyes. Please forgive the sins of my family, the sins of my church, the sins of my city (or town or village) and the sins of my country … (You can pray more as the Holy Spirit leads you to pray in greater detail).
2. Pray for a spirit of repentance to come upon believers in our nation because repentance is the first key to revival.
3. Pray that the churches in our nation will return to their first love to God just like the church in Ephesus in Revelation 2:4-5, But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. Revelation 2:45, Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.
