DAY 7 – FRIDAY – 7/3/2025

Reflection: The big shift through the Esther Fast: big turnaround for many lives

Bible Reading: Esther 4:13-17
(13) Then Mordecai told them to reply to Esther, “Do not think to yourself that in the king’s palace you will escape any more than all the other Jews. (14) For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your
father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (15) Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai, (16) “Go, gather all the Jews to be found in Susa, and hold a fast on my behalf, and do not eat or drink for three   days, night or day. I and my young women will also fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.” (17) Mordecai then went away and did everything as Esther had ordered him. (Esther 4:13-17)

Reflection on the above passage:

Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.”(Esther 4:16c) There is an unseen law in the spiritual realms that controls and rule the world (Ephesians 6:12) It can only can be dealt with through prayer and fasting which is powerful when done corporately or in unity (Matthew 18:19).
Here are two groups of people who are involved in this special fast:

1. Esther and the young women with her in the palace. This symbolizes praying and fasting on-site,.

2. Mordecai and all the Jews in Susa. This represents those who are fasting and praying elsewhere (though they are scattered) with the same purpose.

There are 2 things that we must bear in mind:

1. Esther herself had to do her part that she may speak to the King. We, too, must do our part to prepare ourselves spiritually for breakthrough.

2. It is God who moves the heart of a king however He wishes (Proverbs 21:1) when people pray.

Prayer Focus:

1. Let us pray for a new shift in the spiritual realm over our nation; firstly, among believers that they may seek God with all their hearts and have a lifestyle of
fasting and praying.

2. Pray for the Esthers in our nation to arise for such a time as this for the glory of His name.

3. Pray that believers will be wise in all their dealings.
