DAY 19 – WEDNESDAY – 19/3/2025

Reflection: Intercessor

Bible Reading: 1 Timothy 2:1-2
“First of all, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be made for all people, for kings, and all those in authority, so that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”

The meaning of an intercessor is someone who stands between God and the subject being prayed for. However, in today’s Christian life, intercessors are often classified  as a special group of Christians who are strong in prayer, to the extent that a specific group is formed and becomes isolated from other Christians.

The issue with this
situation is:
1. Other Christians begin to think and assume that there is a special gift of     intercession.  However, this is not biblical because all Christians are given the responsibility to be intercessors—not just a select few.

2. Members of intercessory groups may begin to think that they are superior in    prayer—that their prayers are better, more effective, or more heard by God than others.

3. Other Christians may start to look down on such prayer groups, believing they  cannot be part of them unless they are as devoted to intercession as those in the group.

ALL CHRISTIANS ARE INTERCESSORS!
God has given the responsibility of prayer to everyone who has received Jesus Christ  as their Lord and Savior. Paul advised Timothy, and in all his letters to the churches, he urged all believers to pray about many things. Therefore, let us realize that we are all intercessors—not just a select few among us.

Prayer Focus
Churches in Malaysia:

1. Pray that the churches of God throughout Malaysia will continue to be the light and salt of the nation.

2. Pray that these churches will remain strong in all things, despite facing various
pressures.

3. Pray that the churches of God across Malaysia will stay united regardless of
denomination or doctrine, with Christ’s love as the foundation that unites them all.

4. Pray that many people will seek the truth through the testimonies of believers.

5. Pray that the government will continue to uphold and protect the rights of non- Muslims as enshrined in Malaysia’s constitution.
