DAY 25 – TUESDAY – 25/3/2025

Reflection: Prayer For The Restoration Of The Nation

Bible reading: Lamentations 5

Introduction
Recovery is the transition from a bad state to a good state.

The National Fasting:
Prayer 3 Regions 2025 has the theme of Nation Restoration which calls for all God’s people in SIB/BEM to have unity of heart as in 2 Chronicles 7:14 to humble ourselves, pray and seek God’s face for restoration in our family, our village, our city, our state and our country.

Observations:
In the book of Lamentations 5 very clearly describeshow the Prophet Jeremiah understood that the Babylonians were made by God as a tool to judge Jerusalem.

The Book of Lamentations explains that sin and transgression are the cause of God’s wrath upon Jerusalem.

Application:
As in Lamentations 5, the Prophet Jeremiah’s cry for Jerusalem because,
Inheritance is seized, families are killed, and resources are controlled by foreigners (2-4). They should beg for food from other nations (5-6). There are many tribulations complained to God (7-16). Crying and wailing to God shows that Prophet Jeremiah strongly believes in God’s power. He is confident that he can complain and express all his feelings to God without shame because he knows God will surely listen to him.

Conclusion:
Let us be like the Prophet Jeremiah who is not shy, never stops asking for restoration for our nation so that restoration occurs, repentance occurs and the love that has faded will be restored. Do not hesitate to cry out to God. Let our nation cry in our prayers because only God is our source of help.

Prayer Focus:
1. For a Bountiful Harvest: Most Merciful God, bless the fields and fertile land of our country. Grant us a bountiful harvest that nourishes Your people and sustains
our community. May the earth produce its fruit according to Your will. (Psalm 65:13)

2. For the Healing of the Land: God the Redeemer, forgive the neglect and abuse of our land. Heal the wounds of pollution and unsustainable practices. Guide us
toward responsible stewardship and restoration of our nation’s natural beauty. (Psalm 104:2-3)
